Alcazar de Cordoba

On this trip, we went to the Alcázar in Cordoba. Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos is the full name of the Alcázar. in medieval times, the Visigoths occupied the fortress and then when the emirs took it over later, they decided that this place would be used to house the Caliphate, the person who would take the Caliphs place when it was time. The city subsequently flourished as a key political and cultural center, and the Alcázar was expanded into a very large and widely used area with baths, gardens, and the largest library in the West. Isabella and her husband Ferdinand would use this palace to use as a tribunal. Lastly, the Alcázar was used to garrison Napoleon Bonaparte's troops in 1810, then in 1821 the Alcázar became a prison and finally a tourist attraction and national monument in the 1950's. The trip to this place was very interesting because the amount of history in this place is fascinating. This fortress was used to house many important people and was used as a headquarters in the Spanish Inquisition.
